Online Survey
Online Survey
Project details
What we need
- A professionally designed online survey ready to use (set up with Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Typeform, SurveyLegend, or other tool)
- Training to equip staff to execute and manage survey
Additional details
We're seeking a survey expert with extensive experience to help us design the questions and flow of our 5-10-minute volunteer survey. We want to understand our volunteer base makeup, as well as those who are familiar with Food Forward but haven't volunteered. We'd like to know what is and isn't working, assessing how volunteers experience Food Forward and our existing accessibility barriers. We have a Responster subscription but are open to other free tools. This survey is sent every few years.
What we have in place
- We currently have a list of brainstormed questions and previously sent surveys, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have 2 staff members who are able to help with this project, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,828 , allowing us to make the changes this survey indicates we need to make! We want to better include our community members in our collective work fighting food waste and food insecurity.
Food Forward is a volunteer-powered organization. In 2019 alone, 4,000+ people joined a volunteer event. Volunteers have been a huge part of Food Forward's growth and impact, but we want to learn more about (1) their specific impact on our organization and communities and (2) our impact on them. Our previous surveys have facilitated programming changes, but this survey will collect more demographic data than others and hopefully reach a wider audience. The data will help set our future goals!
Project plan
Our mission
Food Forward fights hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same.
What we do
We collect fresh fruits and vegetables that would normally go to waste from backyard fruit trees, public orchards, farmers markets, and the downtown Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. 100% of the produce we recover is donated to hunger relief agencies across 8 counties in Southern California.
