What we need
  • A compelling narrative, or set of stories
  • Persuasive copy that can be used in appeals to donors, annual reports, grant applications, and media relations
  • Popular examples: Organization's founding story, a program achievement or milestone, a look back at the past few years, organizational backgrounder, etc.
  • Note: This project is not intended to support your general content planning or marketing but there are several projects in our Marketing & Communications category which are a good fit!

What we have in place
  • We currently have a workflow and list of people to interview, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have examples of narratives to help guide you, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,397 , allowing us to invest more resources into expanding the reach and scale of our programs.

This project will help us share the impact we are having on the communities we are serving. Sharing our stories of impact with various stakeholder groups strengthens our ask while fostering the development of our culture.

  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss the objectives of project and key audiences
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with relevant background materials (e.g., annual reports, white papers, brochures, organizational history)

Milestone 1: Storytelling Framework
  • Professional presents and discusses primary story angle(s) to the Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager facilitates interviews between Professional and individuals willing to share their story (if applicable)

Milestone 2: Document Creation
  • Professional shares draft with Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with up to two rounds of feedback

Milestone 3: Wrap-Up

-Foster a personal connection to the outdoors and a commitment to environmental stewardship;

-Adopt a healthy lifestyle that is physically, emotionally and mentally balanced;

-Become empowered, confident and prepared to make a difference in their own communities;

-Realize their leadership potential and develop their abilities to both responsibly lead and effectively work in teams;

-Stay on course to receive their high school diplomas and take advantage of the many college and career opportunities available to them.
