Process Improvement
Process Improvement
Project details
What we need
- Written recommendations to improve a specific process, including the controls necessary to maintain the revised process
- An outline of key metrics for tracking how successful the process improvements are over time, with current-state benchmarks
Additional details
Planning to scale up agricultural research non-profit substantially over next 5-10 years, want to see how other non-profits have done this and operationalize size along the way. At what size in terms of revenue or employees, etc. should we contemplate having in house counsel, IT, HR, audit, etc.? How do we staff the scale up appropriately outside of the research function? How do revenue models change over that time - is there any precedent about when establishing an endowment is essential?
What we have in place
- We currently have a strategic plan and a growth mindset, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have leadership open to innovation, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $7,888 , allowing us to invest in board software to increase the efficiency and speed of leadership management and decision making to help quickly facilitate changes.
The concept we are working on--perennial grains grown in diverse agroecosystems--has gained proof of concept and support of the global research community, and we are now looking to scale the work to meet the challenge. We are projecting that we will double our revenue/expense every 5 years for the next 10 years. This growth strategy is to leverage existing global partners (over a hundred in 15 countries) to formalize a global network and create regional hubs of international R&D activity.
Project plan
Our mission
When people, land, and community are as one, all three members prosper; when they relate not as members but as competing interests, all three are exploited. By consulting Nature as the source and measure of that membership, The Land Institute seeks to develop an agriculture that will save soil from being lost or poisoned, while promoting a community life at once prosperous and enduring.
