Website Technical Updates
Website Technical Updates
Project details
What we need
- Updates and/or fixes to Organization’s existing website (e.g., bug fixes, plugin or widget integration, etc.)
- Training for up to 3 Organization staff members on how to resolve minor issues going forward (if applicable)
Additional details
Its open for discussion if this should be 1 or more projects:
1) We need a back-end systems audit, ideally documented so we understand how to change things moving forward
2) We need to make some urgent fixes to our our (google cloud) hosting & our containerized Wordpress site.
3) We need to continue the work in progress to break out the 'pow carbon pledge' to enable us to whitelabel it
4) We need to update our main website Jupiter X template to reflect the new style on protectourtwinters.org
What we have in place
- We have an IT admin volunteer and a full time hands on program manager to help with this and will ensure we always on hand to define and test.
We have a fair quantity of documentation, screen shots etc.
All code is stored in git on GCP
We have a staging site on GCP.
We have a JIRA instance with most to do stuff in it.
We use Slack and google workplace.
We are working with two CX/UX volunteers from 'the scottish tech army' to help drive development moving forward.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,757 , allowing us to dedicate funds to more grass roots education and to allow us to promote the pledge to engage more companies to accelerate towards carbon neutrality.
Firstly we are looking to stabilize. We recently launched https://protectourwinters.uk/pledge which is getting great traction.
We need to ensure it works properly and that how it (and by proxy our website) works and is documented. Currently we are lacking the hands on skills to do this & it putting us and it at serious risk
We believe the pledge is an extremely effective and powerful way to engage companies and for them to take positive, measurable and public action towards carbon neutrality.
Project plan
Our mission
We inspire and equip UK based outdoor communities to take meaningful action to address the climate crisis, to accelerate the transition to a carbon neutral society.
What we do
Work with the community and industry on awareness, political campaigns, corporate climate action and more.
