What we need
  • Up to 3 customized and professionally designed graphic(s)
Additional details

NYC is implementing the bag fee (to reduce single use plastic bags) and we are looking for social media images to give this more visibility. This implementation was delayed due to COVID so the images will remind people that this is taking place. We would need these images by 10/5 in order to get the news out in advance.

What we have in place
  • We currently have some copy and ideas for the assets, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have brand guide and other examples of work, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $3,002 , allowing us to recoup some of the funds that we have lost out on due to the pandemic making our fundraising opportunities very limited.

We have worked on the plastic bag campaign for almost 10 years and it was a huge victory for our organization and coalition. It's so important that we can raise awareness of this and also celebrate it!

  • Volunteer Manager shares with Professional the intended platform(s) where graphics will be posted, ideas for copy, and images to include in the graphics (if any)
  • Volunteer Manager and Professional discuss the objective of the graphic, key audiences, and visual branding guidelines
  • Volunteer Manager shares examples of graphics or memes they like with the Professional

Milestone 1: Preliminary Design
  • Professional drafts three graphics using different themes to share with the Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager chooses one draft as a primary theme and provides feedback

Milestone 2: Graphic Creation
  • Professional provides Volunteer Manager with first draft of graphic
  • Volunteer Manager provides Professional with up to two rounds of feedback

Milestone 3: Final Graphic Delivered
  • Professional delivers final version of the graphics and explains how to upload image(s) to the Organization’s chosen platform(s)

Our mission

Surfrider Foundation NYC is an environmental organization that advocates for the protection and enjoyment of our ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful grassroots activist network. The NYC chapter is one of 80 chapters across the country, making up the Surfrider Foundation network.

What we do

We are a group of rockstar volunteers who defend our ocean and beaches from the threat of fossil fuel infrastructure, plastic pollution, poor water quality and more. Our work is primarily focused in Rockaway, where you will find us hosting regular beach clean ups, community events and working with local youth to foster the next generation of coastal defenders.
