Project details
What we need
- Well-written and compelling copy for marketing or communication materials; examples include a brochure, blog post, one-pager/fact sheet, fundraising/promotional materials
- Messaging that is consistent with brand identity, public relations strategy and communications objectives
Additional details
We're looking for someone to edit 5 two-page documents that outline the major components of our food recovery work, as well as contain tips and brainstorming questions for those who want to start similar work in their own communities. We'd like these 5 documents to be able to stand alone or be combined together and read as one document. Though grammar edits are helpful, we're most interested in edits that address unnecessary content and possible areas of confusion from our readers' perspectives.
What we have in place
- We currently have a full draft and a first-round edit of all documents, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have 2-3 staff members who are able to help with this project, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,212 , allowing us to more efficiently and effectively support others who want to do food recovery work.
Folks from across the country regularly contact us with questions about how to recover excess food or start an organization like Food Forward in their own communities. We are excited to be able to provide these documents and support more folks who are fighting food waste and food insecurity. After 11 years of food recovery work, we feel privileged to share our expertise with those just getting started on their journeys.
Project plan
Our mission
Food Forward fights hunger and prevents food waste by rescuing fresh surplus produce, connecting this abundance with people in need and inspiring others to do the same.
What we do
We collect fresh fruits and vegetables that would normally go to waste from backyard fruit trees, public orchards, farmers markets, and the downtown Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market. 100% of the produce we recover is donated to hunger relief agencies across 8 counties in Southern California.
Testimonials
Kathleen was fantastic! She provided helpful, clear edits and questions that helped us refine our thoughts. She was quick to respond, too. We felt like she really took the time to understand our organization's and project's goals so that her edits weren't just surface level. She was able to provide an outside perspective that allowed us to understand how our information would be perceived by folks who were new to our organization. We would highly recommend Kathleen and her work!
