Mobile App Prototyping

Project details

What we need
  • A proof-of-concept app prototype (for either iOS or Android)
  • Documentation of the functionality and how users will use the new app

  • Consultation on how to publish and maintain the app, as well as resources for finding assistance moving forward

  • Note: The Mobile app will be a functional prototype but will not be production ready with full user experience (i.e. visual design, animation, etc).

Additional details

We have already developed a mobile app prototype ready to be published. We need to have it published at minimal to no cost so we can keep our impact high. We are past the UX design and prototype building part of this project and are now ready to move forward with creating a completed product to present to the public for use. We are looking for someone with experience not in UX design, but in development and publishing mobile apps.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a mobile app, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a short list of pro bono mobile app publishers, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $14,612 , allowing us to Focus on making impact.

This project is essential for tracking beach cleanup data, including volunteer numbers and debris weight/specific item counts, as well as empowering and engaging people to clean up in their local communities.

  • Professional connects with the Volunteer Manager for a brainstorming/overview session to discuss goals, mobile app concept and user stories
  • Professional and Volunteer Manager outline next steps and timeline for the project

Milestone 1: App Creation Draft & Feedback
  • Professional creates an app definition document outlining how the backend and frontend of the app will work together and discusses the document with the Volunteer Manager
  • Professional creates a rough prototype of the app and shares it with the Volunteer Manager
  • Volunteer Manager provides professional with up to two rounds of feedback

Milestone 2: Proof Of Concept Delivery
  • Professional documents the functionality of the app prototype
  • Professional answers any questions and provides recommendations for publishing and maintaining the app going forward
