Project details

What we need
  • Audit of existing Employee Handbook, or internal communications regarding employment policies
  • Edit or creation of a new Employee Handbook, which may include any of the following: Standards of Conduct, Work Schedules, Leave Policies, Termination Policies, Safety and Security, Anti-Discrimination policies, Compensation and Benefits policies, any Non-Disclosure Agreements or Conflict of Interest statements that may apply, and any other pertinent information
Additional details

We are interested in reviewing and updating our employee handbook. It was last formally reviewed 8+ years ago and we realize much of our language needs to be updated and new sections need to be added. Specific expertise in nonprofit and DC law would be helpful but not required.

What we have in place
  • We currently have a personnel policies manual, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a dedicated staff member focused on this work, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $2,430 , allowing us to focus on enhancing offerings to youth in our year-round program and low/no cost to families.

Our staff team has expanded and we have formalized many of our processes. We are also expanding our benefits offerings and want to make sure we are in compliance with law regarding different employee classes. Increased transparency for our staff around policies affecting them is also a goal.
