Project details

What we need
  • 6-8 coaching sessions with a staff member
  • Actionable steps and advice to address an ongoing managerial issue
  • Assessment of the effectiveness of the Organization's leadership team
What we have in place
  • We currently have many notes on discussions on leadership, goals, etc, which should make it easy for you to get started. We also have a passionate staff, board, and advisory, and the ability to provide any other information you need.
How this will help
This project will save us $4,198 , allowing us to Build our capacity for fundraising, reaching new audiences, and growing our organization.

We are a growing, but small, non-profit that has a big impact. One of the things we are finding that is getting in the way of "next steps" in growth is having a dependable, engaged board, and also with having minimal staff that is not volunteer (interns). So, efficiency and strength in management is more and more important and our ED would like to learn new skills and gain new tools to have more of a "all hands on deck" approach to our organizational development.

Our mission

We are building a global cultural movement to inspire BIG, BOLD, and BEAUTIFUL climate actoin. We are a creative, action-oriented community of arts, policy, science, communications, and business experts committed to creating and sharing innovative approaches to tackling social and environmental challenges.

What we do

The Human Impacts Institute was founded in 2011 and over the course of the past seven years, HII has provided over 1,200 hours of environmental educational programming across several core themes. The themes include stewardship-based initiatives such as Tree Care, environmental justice public resources such as the Impact Hours series, and climate communication programs such as the Creative Climate Awards, a competition bringing climate-inspired art to NYC audiences and beyond. HII's framework focuses on using arts and creativity as a tool for strengthening traditional environmental action methods. HII has developed environmental programs on a variety of topics for diverse audiences. Programs include youth environmental leadership intensives, community environmental workshops, local estuary and tree care stewardship opportunities for all ages, and more. These programs strive to integrate creative projects such as film and video, graphic design, tree guard building, and more.

We know there's a gap between knowing, understanding, and taking action. By building diverse communities and connecting you to solutions in beautiful and engaging ways, we inspire you to take action by making issues personal and practical to your life.

Testimonials

Renae was a fabulous (and patient!) coach. She brought a lot of knowledge about organizational management and is a great listener and strategist, which is crucial to helping break through what goals need to be set and how to achieve them. We are so excited to be continuing to work with Renae as an advisor!
