Mission

Slow Food is a global, grassroots organization, founded in 1989 to promote a good, clean and fair food system worldwide. Slow Food believes that food is tied to many other aspects of life, including environment, culture, biodiversity, politics, rural development and agriculture. Through our food choices we can collectively influence how food is cultivated, produced and distributed, and as a result change the world. Since 1989, Slow Food has grown into a global movement working to ensure everyone has access to good, clean and fair food. Slow Food Germany counts more than 13.000 members organized in 85 local grassroots groups.
